Frederico Sampaio won the seven-figure prize playing the $5 “Double Your Money” scratch-off game.

He chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. He plans to use that money to help his loved ones.

Sampaio bought the ticket at RX3 Energy at 94 Bridge St. in Salem. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
